My Story

I love eating. I love food. I became a nutritionist because I wanted to learn all about food so I could eat more! I grew up in a home where family meals were a part of our culture and my mom was an excellent cook. We ate dinner together as a family every night. I cherish this tradition that was instilled in me at a young age and aspire to create the same culture with my own family today.

My eating behaviors have evolved over time, for example when I was in elementary school I would eat mini muffins for lunch because I didn't like sandwiches. This way of eating led me down the path of being an overweight child, often picked on for my size. As I grew taller, I leaned out and experimented with different diets. In college, I briefly became a vegetarian but after a year, I realized I was eating more processed food than real food, and a lot of soy! I explored different ways of eating before I studied nutrition officially at the master's level and actually learned the right and safe way to truly make healthy, as well as sustainable, dietary changes. I am eager to share this knowledge with you!

Today I don't promote one specific diet or counting calories. I focus on whole foods and the healing properties of food to optimize your health so you can enjoy life as you age. Eating a variety of foods is important to nourish the body and brain. I truly believe food can be medicine.

I am dedicated to helping each individual feel their best and find the root causes of their problems. I have been working in the health and wellness field for over a decade, with experience in public health, workplace wellness, private practice, and higher education. In addition to my current private practice, I work at Maryland University of Integrative Health in the Nutrition & Integrative Health department. I actively participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest research in the field and maintain my credentials.

Let's work together to optimize your health through food!
